신은 무한하다, 라고 / 그러면 그대는 누구인가

we say, God is everywhere

if God is everywhere, where can you look for him then?

and you are where placed?

and we're not going to get very clever, is not clever saying

if you can, somehwere within yourself accept, at some level beyond explanation of our own mind

that somewhere maybe intuitively, something says, God alone exist, God is infinite,

then who are you?

 

신은 모든 곳에 있다 라고 말한다

신이 모든 곳에 있다면, 그러면 그대는 어디에서 그를 찾아볼 수 있을까

그리고 그대는 어디에 자리하고 있는가

아주 영리하게 대답할 것은 아니다

 

그대가 그럴 수 있다면, 그대 자신 안 어딘가에서 받아들인다면, 우리 마음의 설명을 넘어서 있는 정도에서,

어딘가에서 아마 직관적으로, 뭔가가 말한다, 신 만이 존재한다, 신은 무한하다, 라고

그러면 그대는 누구인가

 

it's a very powerful statement

many people, even on this earth, would say that God alone exist

many won't, not able to say that

and many places can say that, but how deeply can you say that?

because we say many things by tongue that are not necessarily resolved inside the heart,

we feel quite comfortable to express something which we feel it's true,

how can you verify truth?

to say something true means you verify

are we yet ready to say that the self, one alone really exist?

 

아주 강력한 말이다

많은 사람들이, 이 지구에서도, 신 홀로 존재한다 라 말할 것이다

또 많은 이들이 그러지 않을 것이다, 그렇게 말할 수 없을 것이다

 

많은 곳에서 그렇게 말할 수 있다, 하지만 얼마나 깊이 그대는 그렇게 말할 수 있는가

왜냐하면 우리는, 꼭 가슴에서 해결되지는 않은 많은 것들을 혀로 말한다

그것은 진짜다 라고 우리가 느끼는 무언가를 상당히 편하게 표현한다

그대는 어떻게 진리를 입증할 수 있는가

무언가가 진짜다 라고 말하는 것은, 그대가 입증한다는 뜻이다

우리는 벌써, 정말로 자신, 그 하나만이 존재한다고 말할 수 있는가

 

many things appear, but whatever appears also disappears, and is witnessed to disappear also

so if something, even the most treasure thing also disappear,

there must be something to witness the disappearance of that

so what is that? i say something, but i don't want to put words necessarily unless they really mean something

the things is that we can accept statements like that to some extent,

but for truth, they have to combust into pure experience

where the experiencer and the experience are not different

 

많은 것들이 나타난다, 하지만 나타나는 것은 무엇이든 또한 사라진다,

그리고 사라지는 것이 바라보아진다

그래서 뭔가가, 가장 귀중한 것조차 사라진다면

그것이 사라지는 것을 보는 뭔가가 있어야 한다

그래서 그것이 무엇인가

나는 뭔가 라고 말한다, 하지만 꼭 말로 하고 싶지는 않다, 그 말이 정말로 뭔가를 뜻하는 것이 아니라면

 

중요한 것은, 우리는 그와 같은 말을 어느 정도 받아들일 수 있다

하지만 진리라고 하면, 그런 말들이 순수한 경험으로 전환되어야 한다

경험하는 자와 경험이 다르지 않은 곳에서

 

where in the world can you see what is vast or what is limitless, can we see anything that is limitless?

and if such a thing exist, what is able to witness limitless?

by what power are we able to witness or to know what is limitless?

what is unblemished, what is unchanging, what is indivisible, what is uncreated,

is that capacity within us to verify what is beginingless?

where would such power come from?

 

세상 어디에서 그대는 광대한 것, 혹은 한계 없는 것을 볼 수 있는가

우리는 제한 없는 것을 볼 수 있는가

그리고 그런 것이 존재한다면, 무엇이 제한 없는 것을 볼 수 있는가

무슨 힘에 의해, 우리는 한계 없는 것을 바라보거나 알 수 있는가

흠 없는 것, 변하지 않는 것, 나뉘어질 수 없는 것, 만들어내지 않은 것,

우리 안에 있는 역량이, 시작 없는 것을 확인할 수 있는가

그런 힘이 어디에서 나오는가

 

imagination? surely imagination is limited, and is looked upon, is perceived, perceivable

so something must be earlier than even the most exciting imagination

 

상상? 상상은 분명히 제한되어 있다

그리고 바라보아진다, 인식된다, 인식 가능하다

그러니 가장 흥분되는 상상보다 더 이전에 뭔가가 있어야 한다
