가볍다, 순수하다, 고요하다, 만족해 있다, 평화롭다, 자유롭다

'the avadhut lives alone in an empty hut

with a pure even mind, he is always content

he moves about naked and free

aware that all of these, everything is only the self, the one reality'

 

'avadhut 는 비어있는 오두막에서 홀로 산다

순수하고 고른 마음으로, 그는 언제나 만족해 있다

그는 벌거벗고 자유롭게 다닌다

이 모든 것들, 모든 것이 오로지 자신, 하나의 실제라는 것을 인식한다'

 

what means, avadhut?

i'm going to refer to you, your inmost being, the one who is free

'lives alone in an empty hut'

what it means, empty hut?

sometimes we may think, this means, in just simple house, it can also mean this,

it can also mean, just live alone inside the hut of the body

 

avadhut 란 무슨 뜻인가

나는 그대, 그대의 가장 안쪽의 존재, 자유로운 자라 할 것이다

 

'비어있는 오두막에서 홀로 산다'

무슨 뜻인가, 비어있는 오두막이란?

때로는 이것이, 그냥 단순한 집이라 생각할 수도 있겠다, 그것 또한 이것일 수 있다

또한, 몸이란 오두막 안에서 홀로 산다 일 수 있다

 

then he says, 'pure even mind, he is always content'

means that is not full of noise of personhood,

meaning someone is not running after the world, is not pursuing the things of the world,

he's not rejecting the world cynically, he's not cursing the world

he understand what it is, the projection of his own mind

when we say the world, i don't mean just the earth that you see,

our psychological projection on the earth, our personal realtionship in life, is called the world

your beliefs, your attachments, your projections, desires, fears, personal identities

 

그런 다음 그는 말한다, '순수하고 고른 마음으로, 그는 언제나 만족해 있다'

제한된 성격의 소음으로 가득 차 있지 않다는 뜻이다

누군가가 세상을 쫓지 않는다, 세상의 것들을 쫓지 않는다는 뜻이다

그는 세상을 냉소적으로 거절하지 않는다, 세상을 저주하지 않는다

그는 세상인 것을 이해한다, 그 자신 마음의 투사인 것을

 

우리가 세상이라 말할 때, 나는 그대가 보는 지구를 뜻하지는 않는다

지구 상에서 우리의 심리적 투사, 삶에서 우리의 제한된 인식의 관계 가 세상이라 불린다

그대의 믿음, 집착, 투사, 욕망, 두려움, 제한된 동일시

 

'with a pure even mind, he is always content'

because the mind is free from ego

 

'순수하고 고른 마음으로, 그는 항상 만족해 있다'

마음이 에고로부터 자유롭기 때문이다

 

'he moves about naked and free'

doesn't mean without clothes necessarily

but naked of carrying a lot of thoughts, not dressed in a lot of concepts

therefore he's free, he's empty, he has no issue with the world,

he's light, pure, silent, content, peaceful, free

 

'그는 벌거벗고 자유롭게 다닌다'

꼭 옷을 벗는다는 뜻은 아니다

하지만 무수한 생각을 짐 지고 있지 않다, 무수한 개념들로 치장하고 있지 않다

그래서 그는 자유롭다, 비어있다, 세상과 문제가 없다

그는 가볍다, 순수하다, 고요하다, 만족해 있다, 평화롭다, 자유롭다

 

'aware that all this is only the self'

all that is seen through the mind, senses are projections from the heart

because he doesn't curse the world, his presence only bless the world

we do not help the world by cursing it or attaking it

he's not an enemy to life

he is a God in life

he blesses all, even those who curse him

 

'이 모든 것이 오로지 자신임을 인식한다'

마음, 감각을 통해 보이는 모든 것이 가슴에서의 투사다

그는 세상을 저주하지 않는다, 그의 현존은 오로지 세상을 축복할 뿐이다

우리는 세상을 저주하거나 공격하는 것으로 세상을 돕지 못한다

 

그는 삶에 적이 아니다

그는 삶에서 신이다

그는 모든 것을 축복한다, 그를 저주하는 이들조차

 

why i read something like this to you?

because who i have in front of me?

i know to be the avadhut in the heart

but we don't think ourselves as the avadhut

we have become attached to our concepts and conditioning,

these are not stable, they come and go, depending upon who you take yourself to be

but i'm telling you, you are the avadhut

that is your true nature

therefore in the life, you must strive to realize this

you cannot create it because it is already perfect

you must only come to see that the personal identity is only the shadow of this

your connection with me is to discover this, and to be free

not only in this life but in all existence

 

왜 나는 이런 것을 그대에게 읽어주는가

왜냐하면 내 앞에 누가 있는가, 나는 가슴에서 avadhut 로 안다

하지만 우리는 우리 자신을 avadhut 로 생각하지 않는다

우리는 우리의 개념과 조건화에 집착하게 되었다

이것들은 안정되어 있지 않다, 오고 간다, 그대가 그대 자신을 누구로 받아들이는지에 따라

 

하지만 나는 그대에게 말한다, 그대는 avadhut 다

그것이 그대의 본성이다

그래서 삶에서, 그대는 이것을 알아차리기 위해 분투해야 한다

그대는 그것을 만들어낼 수 없다, 그것은 이미 완벽하기 때문이다

이 삶에서만이 아니라, 모든 존재에서

 

you're not going to become the pure self

you're only going to unbecome the false self

by understanding that all things that you perceive through the mind and the senses are temporary and transient

 

그대는 순수한 자신이 되지 않을 것이다

단지 가짜 자신을 벗을 뿐이다

그대가 마음과 감각을 통해 인식하는 모든 것들이 일시적이고 지나가는 것이라는 것을 이해하는 것으로

 

it doesn't mean it's bad

i'm only reminding you that whatever it is changeful by nature, it is natural

but there is something that is unchanging

and that is the pure self you are

it doesn't grow old nor can it die

 

그것이 나쁘다는 뜻이 아니다

단지 그대에게, 본성상 변하는 것은 그것이 무엇이든, 변하는 것이 자연스럽다는 것을 떠올리게 할 뿐이다

하지만 변하지 않는 것이 있다

그리고 그것이 그대인 순수 자신이다

그것은 자라지 않는다, 죽을 수도 없다

 

the highest opportunity in the human life is to discover this

not as an idea, not only as a belief,

but as your direct experience

you're unchanging truth

it is by the grace of the self that we have come together in this sangha field

don't treat it too likely

it is the greatest of God

you are called to freedom

you have a sense of choice to reject it or accept it

it's not a burden for you

but an invitation to liberation

 

인간 삶에서 가장 높은 기회는 이것을 발견하는 것이다

개념으로서가 아니라, 믿음으로서가 아니라

그대의 직접 경험으로

그대는 변하지 않는 진리다

 

자신의 은혜로움에 의해, 우리는 이 공동체의 장에 함께 하게 되었다

그것을 너무 가능한 것으로 대하지 마라

그것은 신의 최고다

그대는 자유로 불렸다

그대는 그것을 거절하거나 받아들이는 선택의 느낌을 갖는다

그것은 그대에게 짐이 아니다

자유로의 초대다

 

continue to listen and follow the invitation to freedom

it's like a mirror in which you awaken or recognize your original nature

and grace is with you

your mind, if it is under the influence of the person, is not enough

but the grace of God is with you

make use of this opportunity

and i bless you to continue to deepen

because there is always some force from the mind and from the personhood

that is easily distracted

and even sometimes resistant to this opportunity

but remember, you're called by grace

in your heart, you are the avadhut, the ever free

but it is not enough simply to hear or believe this

 

자유로의 초대 를 계속해서 듣고 따라라

그것은 거울과 같다, 그 안에서 그대는 깨어난다, 혹은 그대의 본성을 알아차린다

그리고 은혜로움이 그대와 함께 있다

그대의 마음은, 그것이 제한된 인식의 영향 아래 있는 것이라면, 충분하지 않다

하지만 신의 은혜로움이 그대와 함께 있다

이 기회를 활용해라

그리고 나는 그대가 계속해서 깊어지도록 축복한다

왜냐하면 항상 마음으로부터, 제한된 성격으로부터의 힘이 있다

그것은 쉽게 길을 벗어난다

때로는 이 기회에 저항하기조차 한다

하지만 기억해라, 그대는 은혜로움에 의해 불렸다

그대의 가슴에서, 그대는 avadhut 다, 언제자 자유로운

하지만 단순히 듣거나 믿는 것으로는 충분하지 않다

 

in our satsang, i'm always showing you, proving in to you it is inside your heart

 

우리 사트상에서, 나는 항상 그대에게 보여주고 있다, 그대에게 입증하고 있다, 그것이 그대의 가슴 안에 있다는 것

 

this entire life is play of God

some say, the dream of God

purpose of it is not always be dreaming, but to wake up

it's your time to wake up

and there's no reason to fail

because it's the discovering of your true life

so much love is with you

even though sometimes it might feel like it is not

don't be afraid of challenges that come from life

no one grows or transcends without challenges

use them to transcend them

your life is a great gift of God, don't forget this

and my love and my presence is with you

 

이 온 삶이 신의 놀이다

신의 꿈이라 말하는 이들도 있다

그것의 목적은 언제나 꿈을 꾸는 것만은 아니다, 깨어나는 것이다

그대가 깨어날 때다

그리고 실패할 이유가 없다

그것은 그대의 진짜 삶을 발견하는 것이므로

 

너무나 많은 사랑이 그대와 함께 한다

때로는 그렇게 느껴지지 않을 때라도

삶에서 오는 시련을 두려워하지 마라

시련 없이 아무도 성장하거나 변형시키지 못한다

그것들을 활용해서 그것들을 변형시켜라

 

그대의 삶은 신의 위대한 선물이다, 이것을 잊지 마라

그리고 나의 사랑과 현존이 그대와 함께 있다

 

even now, as we share these few moments together,

you'll feel the presence of God inside your heart

it is not something that you are imagining

it is a gift of grace, and invitation to your eternal life

respect it, honor it

it's your chance for liberation

지금도, 우리가 이 순간들을 함께 나누는 것처럼

그대는 그대의 가슴 안에서 신의 현존을 느낄 것이다

그것은 그대가 상상하는 것이 아니다

그것은 은혜로움의 선물, 그대의 영원한 삶으로의 초대다

그것을 존중해라, 그것을 소중히 해라

그것은 자유를 향한 그대의 기회다

 

그리고 신이 그대를 축복하기를

그리고 나는 그대를 사랑한다

 

happiness is your true nature

peace is your perfume

if you honor what you hear, its perfume will always be with you

and it spread to all who come close to you

but be free of ego, you don't need it anymore

 

행복은 그대의 진짜 본성이다

평화는 그대의 향기다

그대가 듣는 것을 소중히 한다면, 그 향기가 항상 그대와 함께 있을 것이다

그리고 그것은 그대에게 가까이 다가가가는 모두에게 퍼진다

하지만 에고에서 벗어나라, 그대에게 그것은 더는 필요 없다
