'스승은 아이와 같다'

 

don't think of form

think of form you start to think of features, gender, nationality, religion,

don't think of form

and see if these words are still alive in you

 

형상으로 생각하지 마라

형상으로 생각하면, 특징, 성별, 국적, 종교에 대해 생각하기 시작한다

형상에 대해 생각하지 마라

그리고 그럼에도 이 말들이 그대 안에서 살아있는지 봐라

 

'the master is like a child

all his actions are without motive'

 

'스승은 아이와 같다

그의 모든 행동들에 동기가 없다'

 

haa-, we're not taught this

taught that you must appproach your day with a plan

you must have some architects, idea of your life, now go on fulfill it

and it's ok in the beginning, we don't know the better, so we do this

but at some point, a little wisdom will come even through your pain, to say 'perhaps it's a very struggling way'

it is also within the great journey

but we've come to discover the direct way

a way that is so powerful that it quickly become not a way

all ways, all paths, all roads are going somewhere

which is the path or the road that's going here?

 

하아-, 우리는 이러도록 가르쳐지지 않는다

계획을 갖고 그대의 날에 다가가야 한다고 배워진다

설계, 그대의 삶에 대한 생각을 갖고 있어야 한다, 이제 가서 그것을 이루어라

시작할 때에는 괜찮다, 우리는 더 나은 것을 모른다, 그래서 그렇게 한다

하지만 어느 지점에서, 작은 지혜가 나타날 것이다, 그대의 고통을 통해서라도,

'아마도 이건 너무 몸부림치는 방식이다'

whatever you will find there, it will change

what you discover here is not changing

 

그대가 저기에서 발견할 것, 그것은 변할 것이다

그대가 여기에서 발견하는 것은 변하지 않는다

 

'he's pure, whatever he does, he remains detached'

 

'그는 순수하다,

그가 하는 것이 무엇이든, 그는 집착되어 있지 않고 남아있다'

 

is it possible to do without attachment?

naturally, when we know

 

집착 없이 하는 것이 가능한가

자연스럽게

'he is blessed, he understands the nature of the self, his mind is no longer thristy

he is same under all conditions'

can you hear? what in you is the same under all conditions?

because certainly you know what isn't

and perhaps through knowing what isn't, the intuition of what is flowers in you

 

들을 수 있는가

그대 안에서 모든 상황에서 같은 것이 무엇인가

왜냐하면 그대는 그렇지 않은 것을 확실히 안다

그리고 아마도 그렇지 않은 것을 아는 것을 통해,

'whatever he sees or hears or smells or touches or tastes,

the master'

let's call it now i am in you

the i am, it is sexless, religionless, it is before everything,

it's the purest the intution, the sense i am, i exist

nobody taught you this

your parents did not teach this to you

it came with life

내가 있다, 그것에는 성별, 종교가 없다, 모든 것 이전에 있는 것이다

그것은 가장 순수한 직관, 내가 있다는 느낌, 나는 존재한다

'the master's like the sky

he never changes

what does the world matter to him or its reflection?

what does he care about seeking or even the end of seeking?

he's ever the same'

 

'스승은 하늘과 같다

그는 결코 변하지 않는다

세상이 그에게 뭐가 중요한가, 혹은 세상의 반영이

찾거나 혹은 찾는 것의 끝에 그가 무슨 관심이 있겠는가

그는 언제나 같다'

 

feel this

what in you is constant, is ever the same?

but the eyes cannot see it

the senses cannot know it

smell cannot show it to you

no taste, no touch

 

이것을 느껴라

그대 안의 무엇이 변함없는가, 항상 같은가

하지만 눈은 그것을 볼 수 없다

느낌들은 그것을 알 수 없다

냄새는 그것을 그대에게 보여줄 수 없다

맛도 아니다, 닿음도 아니다

 

'the victory is his

he has conquered the world'

 

'승리는 그의 것이다

그는 세상을 정복했다'

 

there is a place in the Bible, Jesus say, 'trust in God, trust also in me, for i have overcome the world'

a man who has never left palestine, 'i've overcome the world'

where is the world? do you need a map for this world?

i've transcended the mind, the worlds here

when he met the devil in the wilderness, where did he perceive him from? 

you have to overcome the voices in your head

how to do that,

because you remember, 'i'm greater than they, because i must be here to see them',

they come and go, in my stillness, all things are revealed,

knowing this

when will this become true for us?

 

그가 황야에서 악마를 만났을 때, 그는 그를 어디에서 인식했는가

그대는 그대의 머리 안 목소리들을 극복해야 한다

'he's embodiment of his own perfect essence, by nature one with the infinite'

where is essence?

not equal, equal mean two,

one with, meaning in harmony with

무한과 동등하다 가 아니다, 동등하다 란 둘을 뜻한다

하나 란, 조화롭다

 

' a man who's pure knows for certain that nothing really exists

it is all the work of illusion'

 

'순수한 사람은 확실히 어떤 것도 정말로는 존재하지 않는 것을 안다

그것은 모두 환영의 작업이다'

 

how can anyone understand this?

while we have the convition of personhood, the world we see is the world that sprouts out of personhood

it is not that we should not see trees or sky or people

but ego, you see them as independent and very separate from that which you are,

naturally everyone will accept that

 

어떻게 어느 누가 이것을 이해할 수 있을까

우리가 제한된 성격의 확신을 갖고 있는 동안에는, 

우리가 보는 세상이 제한된 성격에서 나오는 세상이다

where in us, can we find resonance and peace in this utterance?

what means, it's an illusion?

not the object of it, but the meaning given to it

by each one is perceiving the world very subjectively, based upon previous conditoning and who you take yourself to be will shape the experience you think, it's happening ouside of you

 

이 말에서, 우리 안 어디에서 공명과 평화를 발견할 수 있는가

 

그것은 환영이다 란 무슨 뜻인가

객체를 말하는 것이 아니다, 대상에 주어지는 의미가

각자 세상을 아주 주관적으로 인식한다, 이전의 조건화에 근거해서

그리고 그대가 그대 자신이라 받아들이는 자가 그대가 생각하는 경험을 모양지을 것이다,

그것이 그대 밖에서 일어나는 것이다
