무언가를 하는 자 이것 또한 바라보아질 수 있다

this mind and the me who intends to drop it are very strongly linked

when the mind is tormenting, who is tormenting,

it's tormenting your self image or the idea you have of who you are

but these are observable or not?

 

이 마음과 그것을 내려놓고자 하는 자, 는 아주 강하게 연결되어 있다

마음이 고문할 때, 누가 고문하는가

그대의 자기 이미지, 혹은 그대가 누구인지에 대해 그대가 갖고 있는 생각이다

 

하지만 이것들은 바라보아질 수 있는가 그렇지 않은가

 

i won't know your answer, when you must be with your answer fully, not just give a mental answer

can see even you give correct answer, but it is not fully your experience 

if you can, whatever can observe, cannot be what you are

whatever you can observe, you will notice that it comes to the field of observation, it comes and goes

a stream of traffic is passing throughout what you may call your waking state

and they are witnessable but if you have strong personal identity,

you will feel so pressed against the things,

so involved in the things you are noticing

that you are not able to recognize easily that  you are merely watchiing them and they are transient

 

나는 그대의 답을 알지 않을 것이다

그대가 그대의 답과 완전히 하나여야 할 때, 그저 정신적인 답을 주는 것이 아니라

그대가 정확한 답을 준다 해도, 그것이 완전히 그대의 경험이 아닐 수 있다

 

그대가 바라볼 수 있는 것은 무엇이든, 그것은 그대일 수 없다

 

교통 상황의 흐름이, 그대가 깨어나 있는 상태라 할 것 내내 지나가고 있다

그리고 그것들은 바라보아질 수 있다

하지만 그대가 강한 제한된 인식의 동일시를 갖고 있다면

그대는 그것들에 의해 많이 눌리는 것으로 느낄 것이다

그대가 바라보고 있는 것들에 많이 개입된다

 

그대는 단지 그것들을 바라보고 있고, 그것들은 지나간다 는 것을, 쉽게 알아차릴 수 없다

 

even this one you are referring to as i do all these things, sit in meditation for all this time,

this i, the kiind of doership i, the one who does things,

this is also observable

this is what i've been pointing out all this time

 

그대가, 나는 이런 모든 것들을 한다, 내내 명상하며 앉아 있다 라 말하는

이 자 조차

이 나, 하는 자인 나, 무언가를 하는 자

이것 또한 바라보아질 수 있다

 

이것은 내가 내내 가리켜 온 것이다

 

that which sees, can that be observed? that which perceives, can that be observed?

 

바라보는 그것, 그것은 바라보아질 수 있는가

인식하는 그것, 그것은 바라보아질 수 있는가

 

what i have shared with you would be sufficient food for earnest seeker

 

내가 그대와 나눈 것은 진지하게 찾는 자에게 충분한 음식이 될 수 있다
