'everywhere and always and in everything

know this, the self alone exists

everything, both the void and the manifest world is nothing but myself

of this, i am certain'

 

'모든 곳, 언제나, 그리고 모든 것에서

이것을 알아라, 자신 만이 존재한다

모든 것, 비어있음 그리고 드러나 보이는 세상 둘 다, 나 자신 외 아무것도 아니다

이것에 대해, 나는 확신한다'

 

'everywhere',

in or out, far or near, here or there,

 

'모든 곳에',

안이든 밖이든, 멀든 가깝든, 여기든 저기든

 

'know this, the self alone exists'

 

'이것을 알아라, 자신 만이 존재한다'

 

here, the self is. there, the self is

 

여기에 자신 이 있다, 저기에 자신 이 있다

 

'everything, both the void',

what's the void, great expanse, the lmitless,

 

'모든 것, 비어있음 과'

비어있음 이 무엇인가, 광대한 공간, 제한 없음

 

'and the manifest world',

all that you can see through the senses, through the mind,

all that we can perceive

including the perceiver

 

'그리고 드러나 보이는 세상',

그대가 감각을 통해, 마음을 통해 볼 수 있는 모든 것

우리가 인식할 수 있는 모든 것

인식하는 자를 포함해서

 

'everything, both the void and the manifest world is nothing other than myself

of this, i am certain'

 

'모든 것, 비어있음 과 드러나 보이는 세상 둘 다, 나 자신 외 다른 것이 아니다

이것에 대해, 나는 확신한다'

 

'everywhere', meaning no place exists,

without limit, even the great void, everywhere, as far as you can imagine and beyond

 

'모든 곳에', 란 어떤 곳도 존재하지 않는다 라는 뜻이다

한계 없이, 광대한 공간도, 모든 곳이, 그대가 상상할 수 있는 만큼, 그리고 그것을 벗어나

 

'and in everything'

say, in good things, in nice people

'everywhere and in everything' must also include everyone, same thing

 

'그리고 모든 것에'

좋은 것들에, 좋은 사람들에

 

'모든 곳 그리고 모든 것에서' 는 모두 를 포함한다, 같은 것이다

 

'the manifest world', of names and forms, of thought and feeling, identity and memory

'everything, both the void and the manifest world is nothing but myself',

meaning, is not apart from me

what it would mean though

 

'드러나 보이는 세상',

이름과 형상, 생각, 느낌, 동일시, 기억의 

 

'모든 것, 비어있음 과 드러나 보이는 세상 둘 다, 나 자신 외 아무것 아니다'

나에게서 분리되어 있지 않다 라는 뜻이다

하지만 그것이 무슨 뜻일까

 

'...........is nothing but myeslf',

how do you know that? 

whatever you seem to know or don't know, is nothing apart from myself

 

'.........나 자신 외 아무것 아니다',

 

그대가 그것을 어떻게 아는가

그대가 아는 것 같은 것이 무엇이든, 혹은 알지 못하는 것 무엇이든, 나 자신에게서 분리되어 있는 것이 아니다

 

'of this, i am certain'

you? -------, who?

 

'이것에, 나는 확신한다',

그대가?------------, 누가?

 

even things that come and disappear,

but their appearance, their disappearance happen in the self

 

나타나고 사라지는 것들조차

하지만 그것들이 나타나고 사라지는 것은 자신 안에서 일어난다

 

even the void of deep sleep and the void behind, even the waking state,

that is in front of me and within me

what appears as time or beyond time, are only expressions of consciousness within me

consciousness is within me, he say

 

깊은 잠의 비어있음조차, 그리고 비어있음 뒤, 깨어있는 상태조차,

그것은 내 앞에 있다, 그리고 내 안에 있다

시간으로 나타나 보이는 것이나 시간을 벗어나는 것이나, 내 안에 있는 의식의 표현들일 뿐이다

because all say  same thing

that's a thing with the truth

진리는 그렇다

 

whatever it is,

if somebody came to you and say, 'listen, you people, you're useless, i'm tired of you, get out of my country'

you sit with it, can you find the truth? yes, you can find the truth

because the truth is not maybe not in that statement, but

who can hear something and understand what hearing is,

understanding that which hears, what is heard, and the very function of perceiving,

they're all functions of consciousness

and consciousness itsself appears in, shown upon by another light that gives being

the light comes from what? nobody can say

just like you cannot say, neither can you show what you are

 

그것이 무엇이든

 

누군가 그대에게 와서 말한다, '자 너네, 쓸모없다, 나는 너네 질린다, 내 나라에서 나가라'

그대는 그것과 앉는다, 그대는 진리를 발견할 수 있을까, 그렇다, 그대는 진리를 발견할 수 있다

진리는 그 말에 있는 것이 아닐 수 있는 것이므로

하지만 무언가 들을 수 있는 자, 듣는 것을 이해하는 자

듣는 것, 들리는 것을 이해, 

그리고 인식 작용 자체,

그것들 모두가 의식의 기능이다

그리고 의식 자체가 나타나 보인다, 또 다른 빛에 의해 나타나 보인다, 존재를 주는

 

빛은 무엇에서 나오는가, 아무도 말할 수 없다

그대인 것을 그대가 말할 수도, 보여줄 수도 없는 것과 마찬가지로

 

are you that?

yes and no

yes, but not yet

yes absolutely, but absolutely not yet

 

그대는 그것인가

그렇다, 그리고 아니다

그렇다, 하지만 아직 아니다

그렇다 절대적으로, 하지만 절대적으로 아직 아니다

 

where is that out of which these words appear? inside what these words manifest and are perceived to resonate with whatever,

where is that? what is that?

who will answer?

 

그것에서 이 말들이 나타나는 그것은 어디에 있는가

무엇 안에서 이 말들이 드러나 보이고 인식되어, 그것이 무엇이든 울림이 있는가

그것은 어디에 있는가, 그것은 무엇인가

누가 대답할까

 

it is like an inquiry, well you yourself must verify the truth

you're not going to hand your thesis in and we said, you're the result

you must be the result

you will not receive an answer, you must become the answer

 

이것은 탐구와 같다, 그대 자신이 진리를 입증해야 한다

그대는 그대의 주제를 건네지 않을 것이다

우리는 그대가 그 결과이다, 라 말했다

그대가 결과여야 한다

그대는 답을 받지 않을 것이다, 그대가 답이 되어야 한다

 

is this food for thought?

can the self be referred to as knowledge even?

can it even referred to as the highest?

can it be referred to as auspicous?

there're actually no adjectives in the self

cannot be described

 

이것은 생각을 위한 음식인가

자신 은 앎 이라 할 수 있는 것인가

가장 높은 것이라 할 수나 있는 것인가

상서로운 것이라 할 수 있는가

사실, 자신 에 형용사는 없다
