그 대응이 '아니다' 를 요구할 수도 있다

우리가 여기에서 나누는 이 사랑과 이해를 기뻐하는 것, 감사함에 기여하는 것으로 해라

감사하게도 삶은 우리가 계획한대로 되었다!?

 

이것이 그 계획의 일부였을까

난 그렇게 생각하지 않는다

여기에서 일어나고 있는 것, 그것은 그 계획의 일부가 아니었을 것이다

 

the other way i express it sometimes is that god is more like jazz musician than a classical musician

constantly improving a theme, jamming with other friends, listening changing responding

so i think the best attitude is just an attitude of openness

and to open our hearts to what happens

 

다른 식으로 내가 가끔 표현하는 것은

신은 클래식 음악가라기 보다 재즈 뮤지션 쪽이다

끊임없이 주제를 수정한다, 다른 친구들과 즉흥적으로,

귀 기울여 들으면서, 변화시키면서, 응답하면서

 

그래서 나는 가장 좋은 태도는, 그냥 열려 있음의 태도라 생각한다

일어나는 것에 우리 가슴을 여는 것이다

 

not just good things happen but the difficult painful challenging things

because the difficult painful challenging thing that they have no inherent power over us

it is we who either close our hearts or open hearts in response to them

it is we who either consider them calamities or gifts from god

we are free to choose either

 

단지 좋은 것들만 일어나라가 아니라,

어렵고 고통스럽고 힘든 것들도

왜냐하면 어렵고 고통스럽고 힘든 것들은, 그 자체에 우리를 압도하는 힘을 갖고 있지 않다

그것들에 우리 가슴을 닫느냐, 여느냐는 우리다

우리가 그것들을 재앙으로 생각할 수도 있고, 신으로부터의 선물로 생각할 수도 있다

우리가 자유롭게 선택할 수 있다

 

so i just recommend dispositon of complete openness and surrender

say yes to everything even if you don't understand why it's happening

radical openness, radical acceptance, radical surrender

it doesn't mean we don't act

but we act from that openness

we don't act from closeness

 

그래서 내가 제안하기론,

완벽한 열려 있음과 내맡김이라는 위치 없음

 

모든 것에 예스, 그것이 왜 일어나는지 이해 안 된다 해도

급진적 열려 있음이다, 급진적 수용, 급진적 내맡김

 

우리가 행동하지 않는다는 뜻이 아니다

하지만 우리는 그 열려 있음에서 움직인다

닫혀 있음에서 행동하지 않는다

 

if you're taking any action in your life, just ask yourself,

'does this action come from openness, from open heart or closed heart?'

only act on the impulses that come from an open heart

that come from saying yes to the circumstance

and then act appropriately in response to it

the response may require a no,

but it comes from this total openness to the situation, from an open heart,

not a closed heart

 

그대 삶에서 어떤 행동을 한다고 하면,

그대 자신에게 물어라

'이 행동은 열려 있음에서 나오는가, 열린 가슴에서 나오는가, 아니면 닫힌 가슴에서 나오는가'

 

오로지 열린 가슴에서 나오는 충동에 근거해서만 움직여라

그 상황에 예스 하는 것에서 나오는

그것에 응해서 적합하게 움직여라

 

그 응답이 '아니'를 요구할 수도 있다

하지만 그것은 그 상황에 완전히 열려 있음, 열린 가슴에서 나오는 것이다

닫힌 가슴에서가 아니라

 

and in terms of what to do in your life

you have beautiful qualities, skills, talents

just use them in the service of this love and understanding

whatever that means for you

the love and understanding is the same for all of us

but the way we express it in our lives is different for each of us

so find your way, whatever that is for you

 

그리고 그대의 삶에서 무엇을 하는가 의 면에서

그대는 아름다운 자질을 가졌다, 기술과 재능을

그것들을 이 사랑과 이해에 헌신하는 것으로 활용해라

그것이 그대에게 무엇을 의미하든

 

그 사랑과 이해는 우리 모두에게 같은 것이다

하지만 우리 삶에서 그것을 표현하는 방식은 각자에게 다르다

 

그래서 그대의 길을 발견해라, 그것이 그대에게 무엇이든

 

for some it will just be a quiet rather reclusive life at home on their own

or with a companion or with a family

for others it will be going out into the world on a larger stage

just whatever feels right to you

but whatever you do, do it in service of in gratitude for in celebration of

this love and understanding we share here

 

어떤 이들에게는 그것이, 집에서 그들 혼자, 고요하게, 물러나 있는 삶일 것이다,

동료와 혹은 가족과

다른 이들에게 그것은 더 큰 무대 위 세상으로 나서는 것일 것이다

그대에게 적합하게 느껴지는 것으로

and don't curtail your work in the world by considering it egoic,

it's not

if you have this love and understanding,

and you have a vision of somehow wanting to bring it to humanity

that's not egoic impulse

that's an impulse that comes from love and understanding,

is expressing itself uniquely through your body and mind, follow it

be passionate about it

 

그리고 세상에서의 그대의 일을 에고의 것이라 줄이지 마라

그렇지 않다

그대가 이 사랑과 이해를 갖고 있다면,

그리고 그것을 인류에게 가져다 주는 비전을 갖고 있다,

그것은 에고의 충동이 아니다

그대의 몸과 마음을 통해 독특하게 그 자신을 표현하는 것이다, 그것을 따라라

그것에 열정적이어라

 

whatever is required in your life to bring that vision to humanity

 

그대의 삶에서 그 비전을 인류에 가져다 주도록 요구되는 것이 뭐든
