뇌가 의식을 만들어낼 수 있을까

does the brain produce consciousness?

the other possibility is that the brain receives consciousness,

and channels consciousness into particular form,

then creates your experience of the world and creates you

that conscoiusness is the organizing principle behind the formation of the brain

뇌가 의식을 받아들인다 가 다른 가능성이다

의식이 뇌를 통과해, 특정한 형상으로

 

그대의 세상 경험을 만들고,

그대를 만든다

 

의식이

뇌의 형성 뒤에 있는, 조직하는 원리다

 

in the same way that a radio or a television does not produce the program that you watch

i can destroy the television set,

it's no longer functioning as a receiver

 

같은 식으로, 라디오나 텔레비전이 그대가 보는 프로그램을 만들지 않는다

텔레비전을 부술 수 있다,

그건 더 이상 수신기로 작용하지 않는다

 

and science will come to that realization

and there are already some scientists who have enough courage to question conventional interpretations,

and it's usually scientist who are approacing retirement age

because before reaching retirement age, 

it would be too destructive for their career to go outside the mainstream interpretations

but once you reach retirement, you got nothing to lose, you can speak out

 

과학은 그것을 알아차리게 될 것이다

이미 기존의 해석들에 의문을 제기할 만큼 용기 있는 과학자들이 좀 있다

대개 은퇴하는 나이 즈음의 이들이다

그 이전에는, 주류의 해석 밖으로 나가는 것이, 그들의 경력에 너무 위험한 것일 것이므로

하지만 은퇴가 다가올 때는, 잃을 것이 없다, 말할 수 있다

 

so the greatest mystery in the entire universe

is the fact that the universe is conscious

how do i know that

well it's self-evident, i'm consicous

if i'm conscious, it means the universe is consicous

i am the universe

 

그래서 온 우주에서 가장 큰 신비는

우주는 의식적이라는 사실이다

나 는 그것을 어떻게 아는가

자명하다, 나 라는 것이 의식적이다

나 가 의식적이면, 우주가 의식적이란 뜻이다

나 가 우주다

 

the only thing that you cannot question

 

그대가 의심할 수 없는 유일한 것이다
