and also my 86 year old father who cannot leave the island of Jamaca at this crucial time.

'we couldn't visit-',

this is everywhere, we're coming to that, and it's very challenging

because we often hope or take it for granted that 

when our loved ones are passing, particularly if they've been sick for a while,

they will have their family around, so on, like this

unless they may have an accident somewhere away from home

 

'우리는 그녀가 있는 곳에 갈 수가 없습니다-'

 

모든 곳에서 이렇다,

우리가 그렇다,

so this is one of the things that is been quite testing, challenging for many people,

is that maybe their loved ones may pass away by themselves alone.

now you say, 'because of you-',

i'm very happy that you pick upon that.

'God-',

now that may sound a bit of strong way of putting it,

yes, but what he means, is that one's true nature, one's spirit cannot die.

life cannot die, death cannot live.

life will leave the dying body and that life which is eternal, timeless and pure,

that is the God spirit within each one of us

 

이건 많은 사람들에게 상당히 어려운 것이다

사랑하는 이들이 그들 홀로 세상을 떠날 수도 있다

그렇다, 하지만 그가 뜻하는 것은,

자신의 진짜 본성, 자신의 영혼은 죽을 수 없다 는 것이다

 

삶은 죽을 수 없다, 죽음은 살 수 없다

삶은 죽어가는 몸을 떠날 것이다, 그리고 영원하고, 시간 제약 없고 순수한 삶은,

우리 각자 안에 있는 신의 영혼이다

 

'please pray-',

my will for you and prayers for you, is that you continue to grow internally from this intense experience,

and the experiences that life brings you.

as i have said before, 

that the wise person builds a house with the very stones that their enemies throw at them,

and live happily in this house.

what i mean, by that, is that wise person learns and grows powerfully from hardship,

from difficult moments, from trying times, from even the abusive people, 

from the judgement of others,

they don't just react, but they contemplate, they find the gems inside the plain, ordinary stone.

they find what is beautiful in that,

and they are noruished in their spirit by that discovering,

and they grow in wisdom

 

'부디 기도해 주세요-'

 

나의 그대를 위한 의지와 기도는,

그대가 계속해서, 이 강렬한 경험에서, 안으로 성장하는 것이다

그대에게 삶이 가져다 주는 경험들에서

 

내가 이전에 말한 것처럼,

현명한 사람은 그들의 적이 던진 바로 그 돌들로 집을 짓는다, 그리고 이 집 안에서 행복하게 산다

in the deepest way,

so here again, we can understand that there some people, we have a very high veneration for the sense of our individual private freedom,

but this particular situation that is affecting everyone,

means that you are compelled to be in quarantine or limited,

because, doesn't matter how much money you have, 

you cannot just hire plane and go somewhere else.

so these kind of restrictions which our minds rebel against, we don't like it, i want to be free to do what i want,

but i want you to change your outlook,

and see that from the very restrictions that you are experiencing right now, can,

if when your attitude is right and open,

chage your attitude from rebelliousness to himility

and you begin to see that there are wonderful rich spiritual vitamin's coming from your situation also

you are going to grow powerfully from this

so don't be so frustrated becasue the mind tends to jump towards frustration and judgement and fears, boredom, so quickly,

but as you begin, continue to observe these behaviors that come from the mind and through your feelings,

without identifying with that too quickly or personally.

you will feel that space opens up between the functioning mind and its behavior 

and you, your true self who is obvserving these things,

that is very powerful change in the way that we perceive,

and gives great strength, integrity, power, distance,

and in fact, it matures our powers of discerning good from bad, right from wrong.

so i don't want you to miss the opportunity that comes when in trying times

 

그러니 너무 좌절하지 마라,

마음은 너무 빨리, 좌절과 판단, 두려움, 지루함 들로 뛰어드는 성향이 있다

 

하지만 그대는 계속해서 마음과 그대의 느낌들에서 나오는 이런 태도들을 바라봐라,

그것과 너무 빨리 혹은 제한된 인식으로 동일시하지 않고

 

작용하는 마음과 그 태도와 그대, 이러한 것들을 바라보는 그대의 진짜 자신 사이에

공간이 열리는 것을 느낄 것이다

이것은, 우리가 인식하는 방식에서 아주 강력한 변화이다

이것이 커다란 힘과 통합, 힘, 거리 를 준다

사실, 좋은 것과 나쁜 것, 옳은 것과 그른 것 사이를 분별하는 힘을 성숙시킨다

 

그래서 나는 그대가 힘든 때 나타나는 기회를 놓치기를 바라지 않는다

 

don't waste it on just feeling sorry for ourselves and grieving our losses.

there is time for grief and this will come,

but be encouraged that a great strength is going to emerge from you, your family, your loved ones,

from your village, from your town, form your cities, from your country in this world

and i hope and pray that as a result of what is taking place now,

the world will become a better place for all.

 

자신에 대해 슬퍼하고, 잃은 것에 애통해 하는 것에만 낭비하지 마라

애통해 할 때가 있다, 올 것이다

하지만 커다란 힘이

그대와 그대의 가족, 그대가 사랑하는 이들, 그대의 마을, 도시, 이 세상의 나라에서

나타날 것으로,

becasue the world is not great for everybody, great for some, ok for many, so so for a huge number

and even horrible for a very large number of people.

i hope that this situation, these times will help us to be much more grown in our compassion,

in our understanding, in our care and kindness towards.

because everyone is touched by this,

nobody is so great, -so low, - above, below,

we are touched by common concerns,

and i pray that human spirit will expand in a most beautiful way out of this challenges today

 

왜냐하면 세상은 모두에게 정말 좋다 가 아니다

어떤 이들에게는 정말 좋다,

많은 이들에게는 괜찮다,

거대한 수의 사람들에게는 그저 그렇다,

i can speak to you, maybe some years ago, i would not be able to speak to you like this,

but many of you may be new to watching this type of talk

and i would say that these letters are coming clearly from people who have a deeper interest in inner growth,

not just outer growth-

that growth means, grow in terms of your wisdom, in terms of your understanding life at a deeper level of your consciousness of knowing yourself, more and more,

not as the object that the body is the one for the body, senses,

but you're not merely your body,

and of coming to the discovery that you are the immortal spirit in it,

that what dies is not true and that we continue to expand,

not just our physical life but in our spiritual life

 

내가 그대에게 말할 수 있는 것이, 아마 몇 년 전이라면, 이처럼 그대에게 말할 수 없었을 것이다

하지만 그대들 중 많은 이들이 이런 식의 이야기를 보는 것이 새로울 수 있다

 

그리고 나는, 이 편지들은, 

분명히 단지 밖으로의 성장이 아니라, 안의 성장에 깊은 관심을 가진 사람들에게서 온 것이라 말하겠다

성장이란, 

그대의 지혜의 측면에서,

그대 자신을 아는, 그대 의식의 보다 깊은 단계에서 삶을 이해하는 측면에서,

몸이 있는 대상, 몸과 감각의 대상으로서가 아니라

 

그대는 단지 그대의 몸일 뿐이 아니다

그대는 그 안의 죽음 없는 영혼이라는 것을 발견해간다

 

죽는 것은 진짜가 아니다, 우리는 계속해서 성장한다

단지 육체적인 삶만이 아니라 우리 영혼의 삶에서
