내가 바라본다 가 아니라, 바라봄만이 있다

this mind,

the brain, the whole of it, the whole nature and the structure of the mind,

which includes emotions, reactions, physical responses, and all that

this mind has lived in turmoil, in choas, loneliness,

and has a profound insight into all that

and having such a deep insight cleared the field

this mind is no longer that mind,

no longer the limited mind, damaged mind

 

이 마음

 

뇌, 그 전체, 그 전체 본성과 마음의 구조,

감정, 반응, 물리적 반응, 그런 모든 것을 포함해서

이 마음은,

격렬한 혼란, 혼돈, 외로움 속에서 살아왔다

 

그리고 그 모든 것에 대한 깊은 통찰을 갖는다,

그런 깊은 통찰은 그 장을 깨끗이 한다

이 마음은,

더 이상 그런 마음, 제한되어 있는 마음, 손상 입은 마음이 아니다

 

but when there is this insight and therefore order,

the damage is undone

like a person going for 50 years in a certain direction,

and realize suddenly that's not the direction,

the whole brain changes

 

이 통찰이 있고, 그래서 질서가 있을 때

손상이 회복된다

50년 동안 어떤 방향으로 가다가, 갑자기 그 방향이 아닌 걸 알아차린다

뇌 전체가 변한다

 

now is that mind which has been limited,

and having had insight into this limitation,

and therefore moved away from that limitation

is that an actuality, something that is really tremendously revolutionary?

and it is no longer human mind

- forgive me for using that word

 

제한되지 않은 이 마음,

그리고 제한에 대한 통찰을 한,

그래서 그 제한에서 빠져나온

이 마음은

실제인가

정말로 엄청나게 혁명적인 것인가

 

더는 인간의 마음이 아닌 것이다

if one has totally moved away from it, 

then what is the mind?

what is a human being then?

then what is the relationship

between that mind which is not man made mind and the man made mind?

 

완전히 그것에서 빠져나온다면

 

그러면 마음은 무엇인가

그러면 인간 존재는 무엇인가

그러면 인간에-의해 만들어지지 않은 마음과,

인간에-의해 만들어진 마음 사이의 관계는?

 

can one observe really deeply without any prejudice,

does such a mind exist?

 

어떤 편견도 없이 정말로 깊이 바라볼 수 있는가

그런 마음이 존재하는가

 

there is no division in observation

not i observe, there is only observation

 

바라봄에 분열은 없다

내가 바라본다가 아니라, 바라봄만이 있다

 

we live in man-made world, man made mind

we are the results of man made minds

can that mind unconditon itself so completely that is no longer man made?
