해처럼 의식도, 어두워진 적도 깨어난 적도 없다

해는 아침에 깨어나지 않는다, 그냥 언제나 환하게 빛나고 있다

의식도 언제나 밝게 빛나고 있다

어두워진 적 없다

그리고 깨어난 적 없다

 

깨어남 은

마음이 즐기는 생각일 뿐이다

의식에 속하는 것을, 마음의 믿음 체계 안으로 들이려 하는 것이다

무지한 마음들이란 없다, 그리고 깨어난 마음들이란 없다

it's not a finite mind that realize itself

it's not the one finite mind awakens, 

and why doesn't all the other finite minds awaken?

awakening is liberation of consciousness from the apparent confines of the finite mind

so one consicousness is already wide awake in all minds

finite mind doesn't awaken

 

유한한 마음이, 그 자신을 알아차리는 것이 아니다

하나의 유한한 마음이 깨어나는데, 

(하나의 의식이면서)

왜 다른 모든 유한한 마음들이 깨어나지 않는가 가 아니다

 

깨어남 은

유한한 마음처럼 보이는 것에서 의식이 놓여나는 것이다

 

하나의 의식은 이미 모든 마음들에서 활짝 깨어나 있다

유한한 마음이 깨어나는 것이 아니다

 

awakening is a misnomer

the sun doesn't wake up in the morning,

it is just always shining brilliantly

consciousness is always shining with the same brilliance

it's never in darkened by experience

and it never awakens

 

깨어남 이란

잘못 붙여진 이름이다

해는 아침에 깨어나지 않는다, 그냥 언제나 환하게 빛나고 있다

의식도 언제나 밝게 빛나고 있다

어두워진 적 없다

그리고 깨어난 적 없다

 

the awakening is just the idea that the mind entertains

it's just the mind appropriating what truly belongs to consciousness,

and trying to commodate within its own belief system

there are ignorant minds and there are awakened minds

 

깨어남 은

마음이 즐기는 생각일 뿐이다

의식에 속하는 것을, 마음의 믿음 체계 안으로 들이려 하는 것이다

무지한 마음들이란 없다, 그리고 깨어난 마음들이란 없다

 

if a building falls down in london,

and the space that seems to be contained within it

stands revealed as the infinite space as the universe

all buildings in the world don't collapse with it

but the space in all the buildings, in all in the world,

are already the space that was revealed

when the house in london collapsed

the space in all the buildings is already that space

 

런던에 있는 한 건물이 무너진다면

그것 안에 가두어져 있던 것으로 보이는 공간이

우주로서, 무한한 공간으로서 드러난다

세상의 모든 건물들이 그 건물과 함께 무너져 내리지 않는다

 

하지만 모든 건물 안 공간, 세상의 모든 것들 안 공간은 이미

런던에 있는 집이 무너질 때 드러난,

그 공간이다

모든 건물들 안 공간은 이미 그 공간이다
