영화 뒤 화면에서 영화로서의 화면으로

if you are lost in the movie, 

it's legitimate to begin with,

to draw attention to the screen behind the movie

so make the distinction between the movie and the screen

just for padagogical purposes, just to draw attention to the screen

 

영화 속에서 길을 잃고 있다면

우선, 주의를 영화 뒤 화면으로 끌어오는 것이 적합하다

영화와 화면을 구분한다

주의를 화면에 끌어가는 것은 단지 가르침 용으로

 

but once we recognize the screen,

we then dispense with that teaching

really it's not the screen and the movie

it's the screen as the movie

 

하지만 우리가 화면을 알아차리고 나면

그 가르침이 필요 없다

정말로 화면 그리고 영화, 이것이 아니다

영화로서의 화면이다

 

so we talk about awareness and experience

'i'm aware of my thoughts, but i'm not my thoughts,

i'm aware of my feelings, but i'm not my feelings,

i'm aware of my perceptions, but i'm not my perceptions'

we separate our awareness from experience, why?

because most people are just lost in the experience

they've overlooked awareness

 

우리는 자신 과 경험에 대해 말하고 있다

 

'난 나의 생각을 인식한다, 하지만 난 나의 생각이 아니다

난 나의 느낌을 인식한다, 하지만 난 나의 느낌이 아니다

난 나의 인식을 의식한다, 하지만 난 나의 인식이 아니다'

 

자신 을 경험으로부터 분리한다, 왜 인가

대부분의 사람들이 경험에 그냥 빠져 있기 때문이다

그들은 자신 을 놓치고 있다

 

so to draw attention to awarenss,

we first discriminate between the two experience,

'that's what i'm aware of

but awareness is what i essentially i am'

we make a distinction between the two

 

그래서 주의를 자신 으로 끌어간다

먼저 그 두 경험 사이를 구별한다

 

'내가 인식하는 대상인 것

하지만 자신 은 본질적으로 나 인 것'

 

둘 사이를 구분한다

 

but then we have to, at some stage,

once this distinction has successfully drawn attention to

the presence of awareness in our self, as our self,

we then dispense with that teaching

it's done its job

we then have to bring the two back together again

because there is no distinction between experience and awareness

 

하지만 어느 단계에서

이 구분이 성공적으로 되고 나면,

주의를 자신 의 있음에 끌어가고 나면,

그러면 그 가르침이 필요 없다

그것의 할 일이 끝났다

 

그러면 다음은 그 둘을 함께 되찾아야 한다

왜냐하면 경험과 자신 사이 구분이란 없으므로

 

experience is a coloring of awareness,

just as the movie is a coloring of the screen

 

경험은 자신 의 색칠이다

영화가 화면의 색칠인 것처럼
