생각, 인식 외 다른 종류의 마음들

진실로 그대인 것을

나의 제한된 인식 능력을 통해 바라볼 때,

내가 볼 수 있는 것은 몸 이다

 

그러니 상상해봐라,

인식, 생각 외 다른 종류의 앎을

(know-ing 말고) a-ing, b-ing, c-ing, ..........무한히

 

광대한 다수를 잡기엔

우리 인식 능력은 너무 조잡한 것일 것이다

our faculties of thinking and perceiving that constitutes our experience as a human being,

it appears as a body

when i look at your bundle of thinking and perceiving,

it appears as a body

the portion of it, my impoverished perceiving faculties can register

you're obviously much more than a body

 

인간 존재로서의 경험을 이루는

우리의 생각, 인식 능력이

몸 으로 나타나 보인다

내가 그대의 생각, 인식 꾸러미를 바라볼 때,

그것은 몸 으로 보인다

 

나의 빈곤한 인식 능력이 입력할 수 있는 건, 그 일부

그대는 당연히 몸 훨씬 이상이다

 

but when i look at what you truly are

through my limited perceiving faculties,

all i see is a body

so imagine that these are other kinds of knowing,

a-ing, b-ing, c-ing, ad infinitum,

our perceiving faculties may be too crude

to pick the vast majority of them

 

내가 진실로 그대인 것을

so it's not that they now exist in another realm

that is a distance from us,

they could exist right here

because we're looking at reality through the narrow lens of our perceiving faculties,

we simply just see this crude

there may be other kinds of mind present right here

that we just cannot pick up

 

그래서 지금,

우리에게서 멀리, 다른 영역에 존재하는 그들이 아니라

바로 여기에 존재할 수도 있다

 

우리가 실체를, 우리 인식 능력의 좁은 렌즈를 통해 보기 때문에

우리는 조잡하게 볼 뿐이므로

 

바로 여기에 있는, 다른 종류의 마음들이 있을 것이다

우리가 잡을 수 없을 뿐

 

and again, that was so beautiful about wim wenders film,

'the wings of desire'

because the angels are present in the room

someone is heartbroken and there's an angel

beside her, his hands on her shoulders, she feels presence

she can't feel hands because they are angelice hands,

they are not made out of matter

 

wim wenders 의 영화, 'the wings of desire'가 

너무 아름다운 것이었다

 

천사들이 방에 있다

누군가 가슴이 아프다

천사가 있다

그녀 옆에서, 그의 손이 그녀의 어깨에 놓여 있다,

그녀는 존재를 느낀다

물질로 만들어지지 않은 천사의 손이므로, 손을 느낄 수는 없다

 

but her senses cannot register

so it doesn't appear to her as a person

it jsut feels i'm being held

it's such a beautiful idea

it's so beautifully depicted in this film

 

그녀의 감각이 입력할 수는 없다

그래서 그녀에게는 어떤 사람으로 나타나 보이지 않는다

그냥 감싸 안아진 느낌일 뿐으로

 

너무나 아름다운 생각이다

이 영화에서 너무 아릅답게 묘사되었다
