빈 마음

마음의 비어있는 상태에서

한 걸음 더 물러나 봐야 한다

왜냐하면 아는 것, 그것으로

마음의 빈 상태는 알려지는 것이기 때문이다

아는 그것이 그대의 진짜 본성이다

존재

(있는 자각) 를 모방하는 것이 있을 수 있다

빈 마음 상태

 

마음이 비어있는 상태는

그대가 자신을 맛보기 이전, 최후의 대상성이다

 

you just have to sink back, one step further

because the knowing with which the blank state of mind is known,

it's your true nature

but you are trying to reach for it

and it is that very effort to reach for it,

that is subtly objectifying it

and is keeping it as a blank object

 

한 걸음 더 물러나 봐야 한다

왜냐하면 아는 것, 그것으로

마음의 빈 상태는 알려지는 것이기 때문이다

아는 그것이 그대의 진짜 본성이다

 

하지만 그것에 이르려 하는 것,

그 노력이 그것을 미묘하게 대상으로 만든다

비어있는 대상으로 

 

it's not that there is a blank state of mind

it's your wanting to grasp it

that is projecting blankness onto the peace of your true nature

it is that trying to find it

that makes your true nature appear as an object that could be found

and the best object that it can appear as is a blank object, 

hence emptiness, like an empty object

 

빈 마음이란 것이 있는 것이 아니다

 

본성을 발견하려는 노력이

그것이  발견될 수 있는 대상처럼 보이게 한다

 

그리고 최고의 대상이,

비어있는 대상처럼 보이는 것이다

그래서 비어있음이다

비어 있는 물체처럼

 

your true nature is not empty

it's full for the brim with being

but emptiness is the last representation of the finite mind

it's the last attempt of the finite mind to represent the fullness of being

the finite mind says,

by contrast with the all the objects that i normally know, being is empty

 

본성은 비어있지 않다

존재로 가득 차 넘친다

 

비어있음은,

 

제한된 마음이 존재의 가득함을 나타내 보이려 하는 마지막 시도다

제한된 마음은 말한다,

'내가 보통 알고 있는 다른 모든 것들과 대조적으로,

존재는 비어있다'
