주목받아야 한다, 보여야 한다, '날 봐라'

self assertion also is maybe the need to be noticed, the need to be seen

'look at me'

self assertion operates continuously on facebook

i'm not necessarily saying that everybody who uses facebook

is trapped in egoic self assertion, no

but millions are

 

자기 주장은 페이스북에서도 계속된다

난 페이스북을 이용하는 모든 이들이 에고의 자기 주장에 갇혀있다고 말하는 것이 아니다

하지만 수많은 이들이 그렇다

 

and the others see you and say, 

'everything is going right for this person, but why not for me'

and then they get their phone out

 

다른 이들이 그대를 본다,

'이 사람은 모든 것이 잘되는데, 나는 왜 안 되지'

그런 다음 그들도 폰을 꺼내든다

 

as we know the ego is conceptualized self sense

you have a self image that you live thourgh without knowing it

and with aid of technology,

you can actually manufacture the image and polish it here and there

this is the image that you want to project into the world of you

but people have been doing that for thousands of years before facebook have arrived

and some people even believe in the image they have created for their facebook page

in the same way that famous people believe in the image that the world has of them

they live in this totally false identity and believe in that

 

하지만 페이스북이 나타나기 이전에도, 사람들이 오랫동안 해 온 것이다

그들의 페이스북 페이지에 만들어낸 이미지를 믿는 사람들도 있다

같은 식으로, 유명한 사람들이

세상이 그들에게 갖는 이미지를 믿는다

그들은 완전히 거짓인 정체성에서 살며, 그것을 믿는다

 

and the of course what usually happens,

they become gradually more and more unhappy

because anybody who lives through a fictitious sense of self,

sooner or later, usually very soon becomes unhappy

and then you have to polish the image even more

and that is again a form of self assertion

many humans in search of idnetity, there is something huge missing

so they are looking for deep identity through strengthening ego,

they don't know it

they're seeking more self assertion

 

많은 인간들이 동일시할 것을 찾는 중에,

큰 것이 놓쳐진다

그래서 그들은 에고를 강화하는 것을 통해, 깊은 동일시를 쫓는다

그들은 그것을 알지 못한다

자기 주장을 더욱 쫓는다
