우리는 상상한다, 하지만 그는 상상이 아니다

그는 모든 살아있는 존재안에 앉아 있는 이다

 

삶의 진짜 목적, 기회,

삶이 의미가 있어서, 그 가장 높은 목적에 이른다면,

그를 그대의 가슴 안에서 그대 자신의 존재로서 발견하는 것이다

 

이것을 발견하고 아는 것, 이것이 진짜 삶이다, 이것이 진짜 자유이다

이것을 발견하지 못하는 것, 그것이 구속이다

(신 이 어디에 있다는 것인지..........)

 

there tiny mind cannot grasp the magnificence of what God is,

nobody's mind can grasp it,

you cannot know God with the mind in that way

 

그 작은 마음으로는 신이 무엇인지, 그 장엄함을 이해할 수 없다

누구의 마음도 이해할 수 없다

그대는 그런 식으로, 그 마음으로 신을 알 수 없다

 

we can have concepts about and we can somehow, the best would be those that no one can define God,

you've said, 'yes, he cannot be this big figure in the sky'

 

개념들을 갖고 있을 수는 있다, 어떻든, 최상의 표현은, 아무도 신을 정의할 수 없다는 것일 것이다

 

그대가 말했다, '그렇다, 그는 하늘에 있는 커다란 인물일리는 없다',

 

yes, there many people who were relating to God as a big figure in the sky,

and developed a relationship with that, and was taking care of, and nurtured and guided,

from that way of looking for God,

God would appear in anyway that your heart feels to find or to relate to God,

some people relate to God as though is great mother or great father,

some people, the great being, some people with forms, some, -without forms,

is all those and beyond that

 

신을 하늘에 있는 커다란 인물로 연결하는 사람들이 많았다

그 관계를 성장시키고, 보살피며, 양분을 공급하고, 안내되었다

 

신을 찾는 그런 식에서,

신은 어떤 식으로든 그대의 가슴이 신을 찾고 싶거나, 연결되고 싶은대로 나타날 것이다

어떤 사람들은 신을 위대한 어머니 나 위대한 아버지처럼 연결한다

어떤 사람들은 위대한 존재, 어떤 사람들에게는 형상을 갖고, 어떤 이들에게는,- 형상이 없고,

 

그런 모두이고, 그 이상이다

 

-must be imaginary?

well, we imagine, but he's not imaginary,

we imagine, but he's not imaginary, it is not imaginary,

he's more real than you,

meaning God is more real than even your highest idea of yourself,

 

-상상이 아닌가

 

우리는 상상한다, 하지만 그는 상상이 아니다

우리는 상상한다, 하지만 그는 가공의 존재가 아니다, 상상으로 만들어내는 것이 아니다

그는 그대보다 더 진짜이다,

신은 그대 자신에 대한 그대의 가장 높은 생각보다 훨씬 더 진짜이다

 

when Papaji first asked Sri Ramana Maharshi, 'can you show me God?'

 

Papaji 가 처음에 Sri Ramana Maharshi 에게 물었다, '내게 신을 보여줄 수 있는가요'

 

the master said, 'i cannot show you God,

because God is not an object, God is the subject,

God is not a thing you can see,

God is behind very seeing,

so it is not something that your mind can conclude and feel so connected with that you're willing to exchange yourself or your idea of yourself for that

 

스승이 말했다, '나는 그대에게 신을 보여줄 수 없다,

왜냐하면 신은 대상이 아니다, 신은 주체이다

신은 그대가 볼 수 있는 것 이 아니다

신은 보는 바로 뒤에 있다

 

그대의 마음이 결론내릴 수 있는 것이 아니다, 

그대가 그대 자신과 바꾸겠다고 하는 것이나,

그것을 향하는, 그대 자신에 대한 그대의 생각, 으로 아주 잘 연결되어 있다고 느껴지는 것이 아니다

 

this is why said you cannot know God through mind

somehow even to find God, is God that creates Grace in you to find God,

is ways are totally inscrutable to human mind,

and yet there's no one that can exist without, all apart from what i call God

 

이래서 말했다, 그대는 신을 마음을 통해 알 수 없다

 

신을 발견하는 것도,

신이 그대 안에 신을 발견하도록 은혜로움을 만들어낸다

인간의 마음에는 완전히 헤아릴 수 없는 방식들이다

하지만 아무도 내가 신 이라 부르는것 없이, 신에게서 떨어져나가, 존재할 수 있는 자는 없다

 

God is not religion, God does not belong to one group of people and not to another,

God cannot belong,

you can say all things belong to God, but God cannot belong

 

신은 종교가 아니다, 신은 한 집단의 사람들에게는 속하고, 다른 곳에는 속하지 않는 것이 아니다

신은 속하지 않는다

그대는 모든 것들이 신에 속한다 라고 말할 수 있다, 하지만 신은 속하지 않는다

 

so if we try to understand like that with the mind, and say, 'yes, but must be able to give me a shape',

i can say that i don't want to talk to you about God,

i want to introduce you to God.

if i can say to you and talk to you for years and years, 1000s years about God, tell you about God,

you may still not know God

 

그러니 우리가 마음으로 그렇게 이해하려 하면서,

'그래, 하지만 내게 모양을 보여줄 수 있어야 하는 것 아니냐' 라고 말한다면,

 

나는 그대에게 신에 대해 말하고 싶지 않다고 말할 수도 있겠다

나는 신에게 그대를 소개하고 싶다

내가 그대에게 신에 대해 수 년, 수 십 년, 수 천 년을 말한다해도, 그대에게 신에 대해 말한다해도,

그대는 여전히 신을 알지 못할 것이다

 

but you're here to meet God, and to know what God is, and can be within your own self,

but you cannot conquer God, you cannot contain in your mind,

so i would say, it's as though the lord is saying,

'you can get to get all the wisest beings in world

and they will not be able to reconstruct one single moment of my reality,

but if you love me, i'm yours',

 

하지만 그대는 신을 만나기 위해 여기에 있다,

신을 알기 위해, 그리고 그대 자신 안에 있을 수 있기 위해

 

그러나 그대는 신을 정복할 수 없다, 그대의 마음 안에 가둘 수 없다

 

그래서 그건 마치, Lord 의, 말과 같다,

'그대는 세상에서 가장 현명한 모든 존재들을 모을 수 있다,

그리고 그들은 나의 실재의 단 한 순간도 만들어낼 수 없을 것이다

하지만 그대가 나를 사랑한다면, 나는 그대들의 것이다'

 

how're you going to love?

like being in the place like this, you'll love

you don't have to try to love God, don't try to love God, he will instroduce himself in you

 

그대는 어떻게 사랑할 것인가

 

이와 같은 곳에서 있는 것처럼

그대는 사랑할 것이다

 

그대가 신을 사랑하려 애쓸 필요 없다, 신을 사랑하려 하지 마라, 그가 그 자신을 그대 안에서 소개할 것이다

 

you may call he he, he's not a he, he's not a she,

but can appear and take the form, many forms he can take, but no form he is,

he's formless but he can appear in form

 

그대는 그를 그 라고 부를 수도 있다,

그는 그가 아니다, 그녀가 아니다

하지만 그렇게 나타나 보일 수 있다, 형상을 취할 수 있다,

무수한 형상들을 그는 취할 수 있다, 하지만 어떤 형상도 그는 아니다

그는 형상이 없다, 하지만 형상으로 나타나 보일 수 있다

 

he's one sitting inside every living being,

the real purpose, opportunity fo life, if a life is to mean and come to its highest purpose,

is to find him inside your heart as your own being,

to find and know this, that is real life, that is real liberation,

to not find this, that is bondage

 

그는 모든 살아있는 존재안에 앉아 있는 이다

 

삶의 진짜 목적, 기회,

삶이 의미가 있어서, 그 가장 높은 목적에 이른다면,

그를 그대의 가슴 안에서 그대 자신의 존재로서 발견하는 것이다

이것을 발견하지 못하는 것, 그것이 구속이다

 

so if you want to find God, stop looking, listen a little bit, follow a little bit,

the one who tells you, 'no, leave this and leave that',

and by itself you find, ha.......but you always be here, you always be here,

i look everywhere for you, i look in miscroscope, i looking - telescope, i could not find, i could not see,

you are behind my very seeing and behind my very me, you're here

 

그러니 그대가 신을 찾고 싶다면, 찾는 것을 멈춰라,

조금 귀 기울여 들어라, 조금 따라라,

그대에게, '아니, 이것을 놔두고, 저것을 놔두고' 라고 말하는 자를

 

그리고 저절로 그대가 발견한다, 하...... 그대는 언제나 여기 있다, 그대는 항상 여기에 있다

 

나는 당신을 찾기 위해 모든 곳을 바라본다, 현미경으로 보고, 망원경으로 보고,

찾을 수 없었다, 볼 수가 없었다

당신은 내가 바라보는 바로 뒤에 있다,

나의 바로 나 의 뒤에, 당신은 여기에 있다

 

like that,

he does not have to reveal himself as God as we say God, 

we do have sense of a thing and an entity,

he can appear as entity, and he is also the one we call the para brahman, pure consciousness, formless absolute,

the meditators call him brahman or para brahman, the worshipers call him- or the Lord- or God,

some call him energy,

whatever you believe, appear as that for now

 

그런 식이다,

그는 그 자신을 우리가 말하는 신 으로 드러낼 필요 없다

우리는 어떤 것, 어떤 존재라는 느낌을 갖고 있다

 

그는 어떤 존재로 나타날 수도 있고, 또한 우리가 para brahman, 순수 의식, 형상없는 절대 라 부르는 자이기도 하다

명상가들은 그를 brahman 이나 para brahman 이라 부르고, 숭배하는 이들은 그를- Lord- 혹은 신 이라 부른다

어떤 이들은 에너지라 한다

 

그대가 무엇으로 믿든, 지금은 그렇게 나타난다

 

but to one who finds, this one cannot speak, cannot say what he is,

all who say what he is don't know what he is,

for the one who finds him, he's silent

 

하지만 발견하는 자에게는,

이 사람은 말할 수 없다, 그가 무엇인지 말할 수 없다

 

그가 무엇인지를 말하는 이는 모두, 그가 무엇인지 모른다

그를 발견하는 자에게, 그는 고요하다

 

i feel that for so many years, i don't feel i have said anything at all,

that is a funny kind of mystery,

but that it is being reintroduced to you and in discovering, you never go, 'oh my God (무서워 도망),

no, you, thank you thank you, all my gratitudes, only for you,

then you'll say, thank God for God- hallelujah,

and praises to supreme

 

나는 무수한 시간 동안, 내가 어떤 것도 전혀 말했다고 느껴지지 않는다

이것은 재미있는 신비이다

 

하지만 그대에게 다시 소개하는 것은,

 

발견 안에서 그대는 결코, '으아 무서워라' 라 하지 않는다,

아니다, 그대는 감사하다, 감사하다, 나의 모든 감사는, 오로지 당신을 향한다
