그냥 듣지만 마라, 이것을 알아라, 봐라, 숙고해라, 확인해라

지금 우리는 집에서 얼마나 멀리 떨어져 있는가

how far from home are we now?

is home a place or state?

if you're physical, home will be physical,

locate yourself, where are you, 

are you in the allness or you're a part, partness, a piece?

집은 장소인가 상태인가

그대가 물질적이라면, 집은 물질적일 것이다

그대 자신이 어디에 있는지를 확인해라, 그대는 어디에 있는가

전체에 있는 그대인가 아니면 한 부분, 부분, 한 조각인가

what is happening?

무엇이 일어나고 있는가

it is as though the vastness is condensed  to looking through the lens of these eyes also,

through the instrument of this body, there's a shape and size,

the all-ness is looking through the lens of this body, tasting the things of this world,

through this tongue, through these ears, through these eyes, through this nose, through this form,

as though you're both

마치 광대함이 응축되어, 이 눈의 렌즈를 통해서 바라보는 것 같다

이 몸이라는 도구를 통해, 모양과 크기가 있다

전체는 이 몸의 렌즈를 통해 바라본다, 이 세상의 것들을 맛 보면서,

이 혀를 통해, 이 귀를 통해, 이 눈을 통해, 이 코를 통해, 이 형상을 통해,

마치 그대가 둘 다이듯

and the more you are clear about this, you'll see it's the same one looking through all this forms

그리고 이것에 대해 그대가 더 명확해질수록, 이 모든 형상들을 통해 바라보는 것은 같은 것이라는 것을 보게 될 것이다

(빛을 비추는 조명)

you may be pleased with this shape, this hole's shape is like a diamond, is like a flower, this one like a circle

and each one is proud of its shape and size

but the light is one, it is not a circle, it is not a diamond.

where is there space for pride?

you must know the source from where the light itself is coming from

because you are there

조명의 이 모양을 그대는 좋아할 수도 있다

이 구멍의 모양이 다이아몬드 같다, 꽃 같다, 원의 모양이다

그리고 각각 그 모양과 크기를 자부한다

하지만 빛은 하나이다, 그건 원이 아니다, 다이아몬드가 아니다

자부를 위한 공간이 어디에 있는가

그대는 빛 자체가 어디에서 나오는지, 그 근원을 알아야 한다

그대가 거기에 있기 때문이다

if you're only aware of the shape of this diamond, the pride of this light that shines through this diamond

and yet at the same time, you're unaware, it is the one light source

그대가 오로지 이 다이아몬드 모양, 이 다이아몬드를 통해 빛을 비추는 빛의 자부만을 알고 있다면,

그것이 하나의 빛의 근원이라는 것은 그대가 인식하지 못하는 것이다

so this is not food for imagination,

there is something timeless about this

이건 상상을 위한 음식이 아니다

시간이 존재하지 않음' 의 뭔가를 위한 것이다

so however deeply it is absorbed into the very cells of your being 

will determine if it is a momentary experience or transmission from form into formlessness, 

you are the formless within the form, 

the invisible inside the visible, 

the silence inside all movement

그래서 얼마나 깊이 그것이 그대 존재의 세포 자체로 흡수되어있는지가

그것이 순간적 경험일지, 형상에서 형상없음으로의 전이일지를 결정할 것이다

그대는 형상 안의 형상없음이다

보이는 것 안의 보이지 않음이다

모든 움직임 안의 침묵이다

it is not a mood, mood changes, feelings change, all these change

and the changes are observed, they are witnessed form the unchanging

분위기가 아니다

분위기는 변한다, 느낌은 변한다, 이런 모든 것들은 변한다

그리고 변화는 관찰된다, 그것들은 변하지 않는 것에서 목격된다

don't just hear this, know this, see, contemplate, confirm

그냥 듣지만 마라, 이것을 알아라, 봐라, 숙고해라, 확인해라

in fact it confirms itself

사실 그건 스스로를 확인한다

here alone is rest

nowhere is anybody's really rest in peace,

only if you go to the cemetery, you'll see the rest in peace

but amongst the living really,

여기만이 쉼 이다

어느 누군가가 평화 속에서 정말로 쉰다는 곳이 없다

그대가 묘지로 갈 때에나, 평화 속에서의 쉼 이라는 것을 발견한다

하지만 살아있는 것들 안에서 정말로는

you see restroom, better than the rest,

but rest in peace, we don't see this one

restroom, better than the rest 라는 표현이 있다

하지만 평화 안에서의 쉼, 이건 우리가 보지 못한다

you want to find a rest, you say, yes, want to rest here

그대는 쉼 을 찾고 싶다, 그대가 말하길, 여기에서 쉬고싶다고

if i say remain here, even this advice that can mean something

because it means simply keep your attention here for a while,

although we're not being asked, keep your attention here for a year

because you cannot do it,

for 6 months, keep your attention here, it will be a report on and off ness

내가, 여기에서 있어라 라고 말하면, 이런 제안이라도 

단순히 잠시동안 그대의 주의를 여기에 유지해두라는 뜻으로

1년 동안 그대의 주의를 여기에 계속 두어라 라고 요청받지 않더라도

그대가 그렇게 할 수 없으므로

6달 동안, 여기에 계속 그대의 주의를 유지해라, 라는 건 

때로는 하고 때로는 끊어지는 것으로 보고될 것이다

you cannot do it by effort

so it has to succeed only beyond the effort

노력으로 그대가 그것을 할 수 없다

그래서 성공은 노력을 넘어서

effort in the beginning,

it's like keeping the curling tail of a dog straight, let him go,

처음엔 노력이 있다,

그건 마치 꼬리가 꼬불꼬불한 개의 꼬리를 계속 펴 두어야 하는 것과 같다

놓으면 꼬불하게 말리고, 놓으면

suppose someone gave you this job, 'i like my dogs with straight tail',

and you got a curly one and you employ someone, you make sure that the dog's tail is always straight, so you put it in the tube, you take him off

누군가 그대에게 이런 일을 준다고 하자, '난 내 개의 꼬리가 펴진 게 좋다',

그대가 꼬불한 한 마리를 갖고 있는 경우, 누군가를 고용해서, 그 개의 꼬리가 항상 똑바로 펴져있도록 한다면

꼬리를 튜브 안에 넣고, 꺼내고,................

i don't feel anybody can do it,

but in the beginning you try bring the attention and get it accustomed to being

because the attention maybe start out like a dog's tail

but gradually that effort falls away and you realize 

but it's not only because of exercise, the exercise takes place in the phenomenality,

but the result is in non phenomenality,

you realize this but actually this has always been the case

나는 어느 누가 이렇게 할 수 있다고 느껴지지 않는다

하지만 처음에는 그대가 주의를 일으킨다, 그리고 있는데 익숙해진다

주의가 개의 꼬리처럼 뛰쳐나갈 수 있다

하지만 점차 노력은 떨어져 나가고 그대는 알아차린다

연습 때문이 아니다, 연습은 현상계에서 일어난다

하지만 결과는 현상계 아닌 곳에 있다

그대가 이것을 알아차린다, 

실제로 항상 이런 식이었다

so where did the curling come from is part of dream

otherwise how long you will be doing?

stay here, rest here

그러니 꼬불거림이 나온 곳은 꿈의 일부이다

그렇지 않으면 그대가 얼마 오래나 할 수 있겠는가

여기에 머물러라, 여기에서 쉬어라
