그 목소리는 호흡의 냄새가, 마늘 냄새가 나지 않는다

 

그대는 방금 말했다, 몇 문장으로

있는 그것은, 인식의 대상일 수 없다 고

 

그대가 이것을 파악하면,

우리는 더 많은 가르침을 계속 해야 할 필요 없다

그건 과식과 같다

더 나아갈 필요 없다

그냥 바로 그곳에서 가라앉아라

 

하지만 그대는 바닥에 닿지 못할 것이다

이것이 자유의 개념을 벗어난 자유다

그 공간이 그대다

 

때로는 우리가 고통과 좌절의 축복을 받아야 한다

그대가 더는 대처할 수 없을 때,

그냥 공간으로 변해버리는 것과 같다

 

내가 들을 때, 난 이 목소리를 듣는다

그것은 호흡의 냄새가 나지 않는다

생명의 힘인 이 목소리는 마늘 냄새가 나지 않는다

그대가 말할 때, 가슴이, 안의 모든 것이 순수 안에서 울린다

the liimitlessness,

that it is not an object of perception

but coming through the looking and sadhana that you've been through,

the need for the mind to grasp this drops away

 

한계 없음,

그것은 인식의 대상이 아니다

하지만 그대가 거치는 바라봄과 수행을 통해,

마음이 이것을 파악해야 할 필요가 사라진다

 

when you speak, i'm not hearing words

i'm hearing space

that is something

you're not any quality

for the human expression of consciousness to come to,

which itself is kind of shaped quality and phenomenon,

for that insight and that understanding to come and to combust in you,

that understanding is not an object of perception

it it like a pure non-visual reflection

 

그대가 말할 때, 난 말을 듣지 않는다

공간을 듣는다

그것이 대단하다

그대는 어떤 특질도 아니다 라고

 

인간 의식의 표현이 이르기에,

인간 의식의 표현 그 자체가 특질과 현상으로 모양 지어지는데,

그런 통찰과 이해가 그대 안에 나타나서 변환되는 것은

 

그 이해가 인식의 대상이 아니다

순수한, 보이지 않게 비추어 보이는 것과 같은 것이다

 

and this often is what a lot of people in satsang are holding at bay,

holding off, for like giving one more shot to the mind

to see if we can do it by just the mind

because there is a fear in the phenomenal identity of non-phenomenality

'it's so empty'

they already are it sensing their imageless refelction by the teachings

but something is still in the phenomenon

the phenomenal person is still trying to search for it as a concept to hold, and behold

rather than somehow that it is transformed from concept

which is an obejct of understanding or perception into pure subjectivity

 

그리고 이것이 흔히,

사트상에 있는 많은 사람들이 미루고 있는 것이다

한 번 더 마음에게 내주자, 마음으로 할 수 있는지 보자 는 식으로

 

왜냐하면 현상적 동일시에는, 비현상계에 대한 두려움이 있다

'그건 너무 비어 있잖아'

 

그들은 이미 가르침들에 의해, 그들의 이미지 없는 것을 느끼고 있다

하지만 무언가가 아직 현상에 있다

현상적 사람이, 그것을 붙들고 바라볼 하나의 개념으로서 찾고 있다,

어떻게 해서든 그것이 개념에서 변형되기 보다

이해나 인식의 대상이 순수 주체성으로 변형되기 보다

 

and that's why we keep on generating more and more phenomenon

because it gives you the promise, but not fulfillment

so when i hear you say, i hear the spirit is speaking

the seeing is speaking in the realm of phenomenon

but where it comes from is like spirit is calling

and there's nothing to hold on to

but if you hold on to, you cannot keep

 

그래서 우리는 계속해서 더 많은 현상을 만들어낸다

그것이 그대에게 약속을 주기 때문이다

하지만 약속의 실현은 아니다

 

그래서 내가 그대가 말하는 것을 듣는데,

얼 이 말하는 것을 듣는다,

바라봄이 현상의 영역에서 말을 하고 있다

하지만 그것이 나오는 곳은, 얼이 부르는 것과 같다

그리고 붙들 것이 없다

하지만 붙든다면, 그대가 갖고 있을 수 없다

 

while you have an identity that you're holding on to,

that itself wants other things to hold on to, the sense of shape,

the sense of stuckness pvail

 

그대가 붙들고 있는 동일시를 지니고 있는 동안에는

그것 자체가 붙들 다른 것들을 원한다, 모양의 느낌을,

갇힌 느낌이 팽배하다

 

you have said just what you say in a few sentences,

that which is cannot be an object of perception,

if you grasp this,

we don't have to keep coming more and more teaching, it's like overeating

you don't have to go any further

it just sink right there

but you will not touch the bottom

and this is the freedom beyond the concept of freedom

the space you are

 

그대는 방금 말했다, 몇 문장으로

있는 그것은, 인식의 대상일 수 없다 고

 

그대가 이것을 파악하면,

우리는 더 많은 가르침을 계속 해야 할 필요 없다

더 나아갈 필요 없다

sometimes we have to take darshan of pain and frustration

when you can't cope with anymore, 

then it just like transmutes into the space

 

때로는 우리가 고통과 좌절의 축복을 받아야 한다

그대가 더는 대처할 수 없을 때,

그냥 공간으로 변해버리는 것과 같다

 

when i hear, i'm listening for this voice,

that doesn't smell like breath

this voice, which is prana, doesn't smell like garlic

that when you speak, the heart, everything inside just raverberates in that, in that purity

and also to discern the difference between that and trying to capture something,

a wonderful concept or amazing concept

i say, no, not this

that's what freed you

 

내가 들을 때, 난 이 목소리를 듣는다

그것은 호흡의 냄새가 나지 않는다

생명의 힘인 이 목소리는 마늘 냄새가 나지 않는다

그대가 말할 때, 가슴이, 안의 모든 것이 순수 안에서 울린다

 

그런 것과

무언가 잡으려 애쓰는 것 사이의 구분은,

놀라운 개념 혹은 멋진 개념, 난 이건 아니다 라 말한다

그것에서 자유로워진 그대다

 

but you have to feel the limitation of entrapment to

it's like god gives us gifts we cannot appreciate

but those gifts which bring pain and frustration,

and can't see further that your tip of your nose,

then when you experience, like the utter pain of persevering of identity of the phenomenal,

then somehow it can drop away

not because it's evil, but it's the last staples are removed

and it's like you fall away

and not as an object you fall away

 

하지만 그러도록, 덫의 제한을 느껴야 한다

마치 신이 우리가 알아볼 수 없는 선물을 주는 것 같다

하지만 고통과 좌절을 일으키는 그 선물들,

그대의 코끝도 볼 수 없는,

그 때, 그대가 현상의 동일시를 인내하는 극단의 고통과 같은 것을 경험할 때,

어떻게 해서인가 그것이 사라질 수 있다

 

그것이 악 이어서가 아니다, 마지막 철침이 제거된 것이다

그리고 그것은 그대가 떨어져 나가는 것과 같다

대상으로서가 아니라

 

the object fall away

yes at the same time, you have an objective expression,

you have the life that moves about, feelings, things, and momentary

in the human vehicle you experience some pain, 

but they are superficial, things floating in the wind

when you wake up, this form doesn't go

 

대상이라는 것이 떨어져 나간다

물론 동시에 그대는 대상의 표현을 갖는다,

여기 저기 움직여 다니는 삶, 느낌, 모든 것, 일시적인 것들을

 

인간이란 탈 것에서, 그대는 어떤 고통을 경험한다

하지만 그것들은 표면적이다, 바람에 떠다니는 것들이다

그대가 깨어날 때, 이 형상-몸-이 가버리는 것이 아니다

 

never think you arrived at anything and some conclusive

it's always regions to explore, more and more refinement

and the joy is increasing beyond your comprehension

'how can emptiness become more empty?', the mystery of god

 

어떤 것에 도달하니, 뭔가 결정적인 것이 있는 식으로 결코 생각하지 마라

항상 탐험할 영역이 있고, 점점 더 정제되는 것이 있다

그리고 기쁨이 그대의 이해를 벗어나 커진다

'어떻게 비어 있음이 더 비워질 수 있지?',

신의 신비다
